Below you will find most frequently asked questions and answers about our couriers, delivery and moving services.

Courier and Delivery FAQs

A courier service is a delivery service that is similar to shipping, but instead of shipping all of your deliveries are completed by a driver the same day. This ensures that your package is delivered on time with no delays and safely to it’s destination without it being bumped around during the shipping process.

 

Couriers fill the need for delivery of packages where shipping just doesn’t cut it. Some examples would be when a delivery needs to be completed quickly or the same day. Others an include when a package is too large to be shipped but still needs to be delivered quickly. Some deliveries are also too valuable to leave to a normal shipping provider. A courier and same day delivery service fills those needs because your package is picked up at point A and driven to point B without any stops in between. This means your package arrives on time and safely to it’s destination

Costs for our courier and delivery services will vary based upon the size and weight of the item, what type of vehicle you require, how quickly you need the item delivered and the distance from your pick up point and delivery point. Contact us or use our online request form for an accurate quote.

Our rush courier and delivery services can vary in terms of delivery time. We offer a rush service where a courier will pick up and deliver your package direct with no stops in between; which is usually delivered in under 60 minutes. Other courier services we offer include a 3 hour delivery, a 5 hour delivery, and a same day delivery which would deliver your package before end of business day. Contact us for more details regarding the types of services we provide.

We can deliver any item that is smaller than 25ft x 8ft x 8ft. This can be achieved by using our 26 foot box trucks with lift gates for all of your courier and delivery needs.

 

Using our box trucks the heaviest weight that can be accommodated is 10,000 lbs. Anything larger than that will require a semi truck which are available to be scheduled, contact us for further details.

 

We understand that not every delivery is going to fall in between normal business hours so we are conveniently open 24/7 and can make a delivery at any time of day or night.

 

 

Yes, these services are available for additional costs. Our most economical service is our drop-off delivery which we refer to as “curbside” delivery. However, we do provide unpacking and inside delivery as well as reassembly and set-up service.

Moving FAQs

Every time you move, there are several factors that determine the total time it takes to complete your move. Here are a few factors that will influence the time:

Customers can leave items in drawers, except breakables or small objects that it could fall out, i.e. change, paper clips, etc. because we pad & plastic wrap all furniture. This not only saves time because we are moving less boxes but saves space in the truck as well – both of which save you money!

With the purchase of our service, Sudden Courier is liable for damage during the load and/or unload ONLY.

Damage which occurs during transit is not covered for any reason under any valuation. We will fix or replace your item(s) for damages at a rate schedule of $.60 cents per pound per item as determined by the US DOT standard weights and measures.

Items which are part of a pair or set will be valued as individual items. Customer understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible for unsealed cartons or item(s) not packed by Express Moving Team.

Customer understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible for ceramic, granite, or marble and does not warranty the mechanical condition of appliances, or electronics, as there is no way for the loader/unloader to know the operational ability of each item prior to the move. Pressed Board, particle or compressed wood is excluded from our coverage due to the nature of the material.

Always check with your home or renters insurance for coverage terms. Customer understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible for any damage to pool/billiard tables, pianos or grandfather clocks. Be advised that stock, bonds, fur, jewelry, paper money, coins and collectibles of any kind will not be covered for any reason. Please do not pack items of this nature or leave the premises unsupervised during your load/unload.

If any damage to the property occurs please point it out to the lead mover immediately. Failure to notify the loaders/unloaders of any property damage prior to their departure will forfeit any claim of damage to the property against Express Moving Team.

Important Notice: Any and all items in excess of 300 Lbs. are not covered unless declared and approved by Express Moving Team prior to the load/unload. Please provide item(s) and descriptions that require special care or are exceptionally heavy in the *Note space provided during the booking process.

We start your move time from the moment we arrive at the first pick up location and it ends when the last item is unloaded off the truck at the drop off location. Long distance moves out of our service area are charged a flat fee, which you will be informed of.

Furniture assembly/disassembly is available but is a separate service. The exception would be basic disassembly necessary to load and/or transport an item- and in this case we would of course reassemble at the final location for full moves.  

This is all handled on a case-by-case basis. We move certain types of pianos, but need to know specifics before the move in regards to exceptionally large or heavy items. We are able to move gun safes but will need specifications about the particular model you are needing moved.

There is no charge to change your service date/time once, provided you give us at least 72 hours notice of the need to change the date/time. 

Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled date/time will result in a 50% forfeiture of the booking fee and the customer will be refunded the remaining 50%. By booking with us, you agree with all Terms and Conditions.

According to state law we cannot move live plants, animals, guns or ammunition, or anything that could be considered flammable.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP THE MOVERS?

Once again the guys appreciate anything, but a good guideline is about $5-10 an hour per mover.

While we hope this does not happen, accidents unfortunately can happen from time to time. If you need to make a claim, please do so within 24 hours of your move. Email a description and photos of all damages to claim via Info@suddencourier.com

We require a deposit payable by credit or debit card when booking your move date. Payment due at completion of move or delivery can be made using credit card, cash, or money order. Other payment options can be arranged with your mover in advance if needed for special circumstances.
